Black Walnut leaf print pillow - Tataki zome - botanical print- indigo

This pillow was made during the full moon cycle, October 2018. I used an organic linen fabric that was printed with the ancient Tataki zome technique. This is simply using fresh leaves to pound pigment into the textile. Black Walnut leaf and stem were collected locally and mordant dips such as iron accent the print. To finish off it was dipped in a natural indigo vat. This pillow is hand sewn shut and is stuffed with angel hair fibers to mimic down feathers with out the dander.
