Abstract Art- Textiles, natural dyes, shibori

This 8"x 8" silk dyed panel is varnished onto 1/2 wood . The techniques I used are from rust printing, shibori, and and dyeing with natural extracts I have either harvested or purchased. The blues come from indigo and the pinks cochineal and various wood barks. In the center is rust and patina dancing together. By using found objects of iron and copper I can extract the pigments into the silk. There is a small toothed hook you can easily hang from or add a frame as you see fit. This piece is signed by artist on the back and is a one of a kind.
