16" Rust Print Pillow , Cotton

This 16" pillow is printed with a rusted metal sickle on a cotton fabric. The back of the pillow is a vintage damask pattern and it is hand sewn shut. This pieces was an earlier print I made in 2005. I was interested in the movement that an object had when it was functioning and wanted to capture it with multiple rust prints. Normally I print in silk and because it was cotton I didnt know how to finish it. I finally decided to make it into a pillow in 2016. The stuffing is made with a synthetic cluster fiber that is better quality than poly fill as it does not clump to easily.
