Sumac leaf - herb- dye

Staghorn Sumac or Rhus typhina is grown and harvested locally from organic sources and processed at R A W Textiles studio. This tannin rich leaf will give a wonderful primer to any silk, cotton or wool fabric or yarns. You can use this to create contrast with iron and slight color shifts with other natural dyes. You can use these dried leaves for an immersion bath or to direct dye. I like to do both. You might not be able to see a color when you create a bath but its the over dye with iron or colors that will give you results.
